The Advance Warning System (AWS) disseminates information to people with disabilities and others with access and functional needs through their service providers. Please share the important information below with your clients and other agencies or individuals to empower them to make informed decisions.


As The City continues to respond to COVID-19, we want to ensure that our partners are provided with the most up-to-date information.


“Feeding New York”

The City of New York recently released the plan for keeping New Yorkers fed during the COVID-19 pandemic. “Feeding New York” is the City’s plan to feed hungry New Yorkers throughout this crisis and protect the security of our food supply chain. In total, the City is investing $170 million over the next several months in this unprecedented effort. The approach begins with immediate steps to secure our food supply chain and feed hungry and vulnerable New Yorkers. In the coming weeks, it will transition to the second phase, preparing for evolving and growing needs and building resilience into the food supply. To view the plan, please click here.


Get Food

During the COVID-19 public health crisis, NYC is taking steps to make sure every New Yorker has access to the food they need. Through NYC.gov/getfood, New Yorkers can access information about food assistance programs and resources, including:


Wellness Checks

Please do frequent wellness checks on your vulnerable clients to ensure their needs are being met during this unprecedented crisis. 


Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) is allocating PPE for the following organizations:

·       Hospitals

·       Nursing Homes

·       EMS Providers

·       Dialysis Centers

·       OPWDD Certified Facilities

·       Visiting Nurse Service Providers

If your organization does not fall into one of these facility types, the request will be denied.

For non-profit organizations, Human Services Council is collecting the demand for PPE in the social services sector. We would encourage you to fill out the survey.

Participating organizations receive public preparedness and emergency information that they can relay to their clients and other similar agencies.
