The Advance Warning System (AWS) disseminates information to people with disabilities and others with access and functional needs through their service providers. Please share the important information below with your clients and other agencies or individuals to empower them to make informed decisions.

Dear AWS Providers,

Please share the following information with your staff and any contracted providers:

As dangerously cold temperatures continue to move through New York City, Warming Centers are open in all five boroughs.

Prolonged exposure to these temperatures can be life-threatening. Warming Centers provide a safe, heated environment during extreme cold weather.

If you see someone who may be at risk due to the cold, please direct them to a Warming Center.

The most up-to-date information on Warming Center locations and times can be found at nyc.gov/warmingcenters or by calling 311.

Thank you for your continued work in keeping New Yorkers safe.
